Irrigation Minister T Harish Rao has reiterated that that the Telangana Government would complete Palamuru Lift Irrigation and Dindi Irrigation projects on war footing basis.
Addressing a press conference here on Sunday, Harish Rao strongly criticised the objections being raised by Andhra Pradesh Government over the construction of Palamuru and Dindi projects. He said that the AP Government has formally lodged a complaint with the Centre and sought its intervention to stop the projects. He made it clear that the projects were not new and both were initiated during the previous Congress regime.
While the Dindi project granted administrative sanction for Dindi Project in 2007, the previous Kiran Kumar Reddy cleared Palamuru project and even sanctioned funds for the same. He said that the Telangana Government need not seek fresh permissions for the same. He asked whether the Andhra Pradesh Government took permissions for all the ongoing projects in the State.
The Minister said that the Telangana Government would go ahead with both the projects irrespective of objections being raised by the AP. He also asked Telangana TDP leaders to clarify their stand on the issue. (INN)
