Telangana Rashtra Samiti (TRS) senior leader and Siddipet MLA T. Harish Rao has said that TRS was not against releasing water to the Krishna Delta.
Speaking to media persons here on Sunday, Harish Rao asked how far it was proper to release water for irrigation propose in Krishna delta, while the people of Telangana region were suffering for want of drinking water. He said that releasing water to Krishna Delta was against Natural Justice. Stating that intense discussion was continuing in the state on the issue, he asked why TDP president N. Chandrababu Naidu and YSR Congress Party President Vijayamma remained silent on the issue so far. He demanded that they should immediately spell out their stand in this regard.
Harish Rao criticized the Minister for Panchayath Raj K. Jana Reddy, who was aspiring for the Chief Minister post, for remaining silent on the issue. He said that they would defeat the gimmicks being resorted to by Ladapati Rajagopal, who was trying to gain political mileage by provoking the people. Stating that water sharing were taking place between countries, he asked why water distribution could not take place after formation of separate Telangana State. (NSS)
