Irrigation Minister T Harish Rao today said the State police personnel were sacrificing their lives in the discharge of their duties.
Inaugurating a new building for a police station in Siddipet town on Wednesday, Harish Rao said the police men were putting up brave fight with terrorists and anti-social elements. He expressed concern that the officials of the Police department were negligent towards providing shelter, facilities and construction of police station buildings in the State. The department should expedite steps to provide shelter and all facilities for police personnel, he added. He also said the Centre has approved Rs 100 crore towards housing facility for the policemen in the State. Despite the availability of the funds, the police topbrass could not start the work, he lamented. This amount can be used for constructing better housing facility to the police personnel, he noted.
