Harish, Padma Rao appreciate Taekwando medalists

Irrigation Minister T Harish Rao and Excise and Sports Minister T Padma Rao Goud today appreciated youth from Telangana for achieving gold and other medals in World Taekwando competitions held recently in Dallas.

At a program at Jala Saudha here today, the minister said the government will encourage the sports and games as also Taekwando in the State. Reacting on an appeal to set up a national level Taekwando Academy in Hyderabad, Harish said that they will discuss the issue with Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao for budgetary allocation and needed steps. He sought proposals from the association to prepare for world competitions including Olympics and others in future. Harish appreciated Jayanth Reddy chief of Infino Taekwando World organisation of the city who led the team to get the medals at Dallas competitions in US on Feb 10 and 11.

Padma Rao said to offer some prize money to the winners. The ministers appreciated the city based winners K Jayadev, Abdul Khaleel and Sindhu Tapaswi for securing the medals in the competitions represented by 21 nations contended by 1200 sports persons.
