As a follow up of Swatch Hyderabad program, the state government today taken up few works related to civic amenities, drinking water and removal of high tension wires at NBT Nagar in Banjara Hills area.
Irrigation Minister T Harish Rao today laid foundation stones for various developmental works here along with TRS secretary general K Keshava Rao and other leaders. He paid a visit to the area and participated in several developmental works. Speaking on the occasion, Harish said that steps have begun to remove high tension electric wires from atop the houses of the area, by spending Rs 1.30 crore. The related works will be completed in one week to two weeks against the normal period of months, he said.
Drinking water facility will be provided to the locals by spending Rs 3 crore for which foundation stone will be laid, Harish stated. The minister also said that they will take up developmental works every Sunday and a women welfare building in 1200 sq yards of space will be constructed in the area. He also announced that pensions and ration cards will be distributed amongst the eligible on June 7. The government will construct double bedrooms for the poor of Indira Nagar locality soon by spending Rs 18 crore, he stated. Related works will be taken up soon, he added.
Keshava Rao stated that it is the peoples’ government which will address the problems of the denizens. ‘We are here to resolve all issues including basic amenities, roads, drinking water, roads and infrastructure’, he remarked. The previous Government failed to address the problems of NBT Nagar, he alleged. Now the TRS Government will address all of them in a phased manner. People should cooperate with the government to keep the city clean as part of Swatch Hyderabad, Keshava Rao added.(NSS)
