TRS senior leader and MLA Harish Rao today welcomed the Supreme Court judgment dismissing nine petitions filed by Seemandhra leaders against the move to bifurcate Andhra Pradesh.
Speaking to the media, Harish Rao said the apex court judgment makes it clear that formation of Telangana is totally justified. After the court verdict, Seemandhra leaders should stop their unjustified agitation. In the wake of rejection of petitions by the Supreme Court against bifurcation of the State, it was not proper for them to oppose Telangana State now, Government chief whip Gandra Venkatramana Reddy said.
Meanwhile, TDP leader Payyavula Keshav said the petitions were not rejected. The Supreme Court only commented that time was not appropriate to consider as the petitions were immature. “We will approach the apex court again after the Union Cabinet decision”, he added. (NSS)
