Harish hails HC order on GO 123, asks Oppn to stop putting spokes

Irrigation Minister T Harish Rao today welcomed the High Court order staying the previous quashing order of GO 123.

Speaking to media persons at Secretariat media lounge here, the minister expressed pleasure at the division bench’s order staying the previous order. The Government has promised to provide more benefits to the evacuees, displaced persons, farmers and others to be affected. “We have promised to the court of providing better compensation to the victims under Mallanna Sagar project and will submit other details sought on Thursday”, he stated.

Harish also took potshots at the opposition for making persistent remarks against chief minister K Chandrasekhar Rao on the issue. The Opposition is afraid of future and making malicious campaign against the government he flayed. The Government, he claimed, is committed for providing more benefits than 2013 land acquisition act through GO 123 to the victims of Malllanna Sagar project. He also said that the government has submitted an affidavit to the court about the benefits through the GO 123. The Minister also stated that the government will acquire land wherever necessary as per norms. He suggested to the Opposition parties to stop meddling in the development works. They (Opposition leaders) could not digest the development of the State and coming in the way, he flayed. (NSS)
