Harish attends PMKSY in Delhi

Telangana Irrigation Minister T Harish Rao today attended a third meeting of Pradhan Mantri Krishi Sinchay Yojana (PMKSY) scheme in national capital here. He gave a presentation on the flagship programs of Mission Kakatiya and Mission Bhagiratha and sought the Centre to support the same with adequate funds.

Speaking on the occasion the irrigation minister stated that Telangana Government plans to complete 10 irrigation projects by 2017 and sought the Centre to provide needed financial assistance, grants and loans. Harish cited that Prime Minister Narendra Modi and many other states and Niti Ayog had appreciated the schemes. The two schemes are aimed at providing safe waters to every household and irrigate crops in rural areas he maintained. He also apprised them of the Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao’s determination to implement schemes. We also sought Niti Ayog to give Rs 5000 cr for lakes restoration program Harish added.

KCR aimed to fill up the tanks and water bodies with 245 tmc waters in 46000 lakes to be restored in four years under the scheme he said. (NSS)
