Irrigation and Marketing Minister T Harish Rao will seek Rs 7990 crores for completing various projects in the state besides urging it to relax the norms of environmental and forest clearances for the same. The minister is leaving for Delhi on Wednesday to attend a PMKSY meeting on November 23.
Minister will meet Union Water Resources Minister Uma Bharathi and seek her cooperation for speedy completion of the projects by easing off the norms related to environment and forests. The irrigation minister will hold separate meetings with Uma Bharathi, Union Agriculture Minister Radhamohan Singh and Union Environment Minister Anil Dhave and seek release of funds and relaxation to norms for the projects. It is pertinent to note that Uma Bharathi said that Palamur – Ranga Reddy project has no environment permission in the wake of Andhra Pradesh Government filing a complaint. Harish said that environment permissions delaying the completion of the projects in the state. He is also to urge the Centre to give loans without taking into consideration the limit of FRBM. (NSS)
