Ghaziabad, March 04: A hardcore criminal, belonging to Ajay Jadeja gang, was shot dead by the police in an encounter here, officials said. Satender was killed last evening near Satabdi Nagar in Meerut district, 10 km from here.
The encounter took place when Satender along with his accomplice was travelling in his car and intercepted by the police near Muradnagar ganga canal. He sped away towards Meerut, Meerut Deputy Inspector General Police Akhil Kumar told.
Police and Special Operation Group later chased him and in exchange of fire, Satender was killed, while his accomplice managed to escaped.
Satender was wanted in Ghaziabad, Meerut and Delhi in over two dozen cases of crime.
