Hyderabad, January 6: The State Bahujan Employees Federation has alleged that the government employees hailing from SC, ST, BC and Minority communities in the State were subjected to suffering through Anti Corruption Bureau (ACB) cases over the last two decades for petty issues. It demanded that the upper caste sections stop harassing the weaker sections and all the ACB cases which were registered against them be withdrawn forthwith.
Speaking at a press conference here on Wednesday, the founder chairman of federation, Mr J Suryanarayana said that there are 10 lakh government employees in the State, out of whom about six lakh employees belonged to SC, ST, BC and Minorities. Implicating them in graft cases on trivial charges of demanding bribes of Rs 500 or Rs 1000 and so on the influential people from higher class sections were harassing them, he alleged.
“Though many bureaucrats and public representatives were illegally amassing crores of rupees, no body dares to question them. Even in respect of the recent 2G Spectrum case, due to which a whopping amount of Rs 1.76 lakh crores of loss was said to have been caused to the exchequer, no tangible action was taken as yet in this case. Notwithstanding all this, the low cadre employees from the weaker sections are being harassed for petty issues”, he added.
Stating that the State government has provided reservations for SC, ST, BC and Minorities i.e 15 per cent, 6 per cent and 24 per cent respectively, Mr Suryanaraya said that they were not being implemented properly. Noting that the reservations are not the charity by the government, but the right of the weaker sections, he reiterated that a government job is an asset to the unprivileged sections.
Hence, the federation demanded that, all the ACB cases which were registered against SC, ST BC and Minorities should be withdrawn immediately; all the three lakh vacant posts in various government departments should be filled; nearly 70,000 backlog posts of SC and ST should be filled. Referring to the outsourcing system, Mr Suryanarayana demanded that it should be scrapped and all the appointments be made on contract basis. Noting that there was no reservation system in outsourcing, he demanded for the introduction of reservations in this sphere if is continued.
The additional secretary, Mr D Srinivasulu, Legal advisor, Mr A Rajeshwar Yadav, Telangana Co-operative Non Gagetted Officers association president, Mr Jagan Mohan Rao, TNGO Treasurer, Mr Ravi Chander and Hyderabad District treasurer, TNGO, Mr Nagi Reddy, also spoke.
