Dr. Mir Omer Ali Khan, who belongs to Edi Bazar of Santhosh Nagar in the city, has urged the State government to protect him from MIM leaders and handover his ancestral property to their family.
Speaking to the media persons here on Tuesday, Omer Ali Khan said that he has 1170 square yards of land at Bagh Meer Pasha in Edi Bazar, and it has been in their possession for the 200 years. He said that they were regularly paying the property tax and electricity bills for the premises. He said that they had run Saif-ul-mulk-Memorial High School under the Siddiqui Educational Society, for ten years in the same place. The school was closed in 2009 when it had gone into losses.
He said that in the month of April, 2012, they had reached an agreement with a local CPI-M leader Abdul Lateef, to lease the place for a period of 11 years for construction of a function hall in place of school. On April 26, 2012, when they have started leveling the premises for the construction, local MIM corporator, Salim Baig along with his henchmen and Wakf Board officials, broke the locks of the gate and entered the premises illegally, and damaged the property and created havoc in the locality, claiming that the property belongs to Wakf board, he alleged.
He alleged the Wakf Board officials have booked a case against them in Santhosh Nagar Police Station due to pressures from none other than MIM MP Asaduddin Owaisi and MIM MLA Mumtaz Khan.
He said that the Wakf Board officials have booked the case against them to the extent that they desecrated the graves of their own grand fathers. He asked how Wakf Board could involve in their personal affairs. He alleged it was evident that the Wakf board was acting at the behest of the MIM Party.
He alleged that the officials of Wakf Board were not even following the prescribe procedure to serve a notice before seizing the place. The police locked the premises and kept the keys with them for the past two months. He alleged the Santhosh Nagar ACP S. Sai Krishna was unnecessarily involving in the matter and threatening them with dire consequences if they did not vacate the place. He alleged the local corporator Salim Baig was harassing them and putting them to metal torture as they have given the lease to the CPI (M) leader.
Though the High Court has given ‘Status quo’ on this place, the police have set aside the orders and involving in this matter.
Mohd Abdul Lateef, CPI city secretariat member M. Srinivas, Mir Asad Ali Khan and Shaik Habeeb Hussain Quadri were also present. (NSS)
