Hyderabad, January 20: A man killed his wife reportedly suspecting her of infidelity while in another incident a woman killed her husband unable to bear his harassment.
In the first incident, 24-year-old T Radha was strangled to death allegedly by her husband at Shivaramapally. Radha was married to Ashok three years ago and they were residing at Raghavendra Colony where they used to run a tea stall. Police said Ashok used to harass his wife suspecting her character and they used to have frequent quarrels over this.
Yesterday night, the couple reportedly had a quarrel over the same issue and in a fit of rage, Ashok might have strangled Radha to death, police said.
Ashok fled from the house and it was when neighbours heard the cries of their two children today morning that they enquired and found her dead.
In a separate incident, a 36-year-old woman smashed her husband’s head with a pestle unable to bear his harassment at Narayanguda late yesterday night. Vijaya Lakshmi was married to Punya Naik (40) and they both hail from Mahaboobnagar and had migrated to the city six months ago.
Police said Punya Naik used to come home in an inebriated condition and harass his wife suspecting her character. Yesterday night also, he came home drunk and picked up an argument with his wife and beat her with a pestle.
Vijaya Lakshmi lost her cool and snatched the pestle from his hands and smashed his head with it.
Police registered cases under Section 302 (murder) in both the incidents and are investigating.
