What happened to funds given by Centre to Telangana: Digvijaya

Hyderabad: Congress general secretary Digvijaya Singh today demanded an explanation from the TRS government in Telangana as to what did it do with the Rs 90,000 crore which, according to BJP chief Amit Shah, the Centre had sanctioned for the state.

Shah had said at Warangal yesterday that the NDA government had sanctioned schemes worth Rs 90,000 crore for Telangana.

In a release issued by Telangana Congress, Singh wondered whether the money was used by the TRS to “buy legislators of opposition parties”.

He accused the TRS government of “forcibly” acquiring land for various projects such as the one related to Mallanna Sagar irrigation.

He alleged that the government was “violating” farmers’ rights by “denying them the right compensation” as per the Land Acquisition Act, 2013.

The former Madhya Pradesh chief minister also accused the BJP government at the Centre of “creating animosity between different communities”.

Meanwhile, Telangana Congress chief N Uttam Kumar Reddy expressed confidence that his party would form the government in the state after the 2019 Assembly election.

A two-day training session, organised by Telangana Congress for party representatives in local bodies, commenced today at KJR Gardens in Secunderabad.

The opening session was addressed by Puducherry Chief Minister V Narayanasamy, Digvijaya Singh, RC Khuntia, N Uttam Kumar Reddy, K Jana Reddy, Mohammed Ali Shabbir, Mallu Bhatti Vikramarka and training programme convener Ponnam Prabhakar among others.
