Rajya Sabha MP and Senior Congress Leader V Hanumantha Rao today appreciated AICC General Secretary Rahul Gandhi for accepting the party’s defeat in five state, including Uttar Pradesh. Addressing a press conference here, he said Mr Gandhi who had campaigned for 40 days for Uttar Pradesh polls, has gained experience. This would enable him to strengthen the party in future in the five states where the Congress fared poorcy, barring Manipur. Mr Rao said the party would emerge stronger under the leadership of Mr Rahul in the coming days, paving way for him to become the Prime Minister in 2014. The outcome of the elections was an ‘eye opener’ for all Congress leaders in Andhra Pradesh and they should draw the right lessons from these results, and work unitedly to strengthen the party in Andhra Pradesh, he said.
