Hosapete: Two communities in Chittawadgi Circle clashed over tying flags for the Hanuman Jayanti and Eid-e-Milad celebrations on Monday.
The other members of the community tried to tie flags and banners for Eid-e-Milad, which resulted in the war of words between the two groups.
Two women from different communities had a fight over the issue on Monday morning seeing the fight the other people intervened and a clash broke out.
Police immediately rushed on the spot and dispersed the crowds. They also appealed to the two groups to maintain peace, but the situation continues to be tense.
Another violence broken out in Gangavathi in Koppal district on Monday, between two communities over tying buntings for their festivals. Nearly 70 people have been injured in the two days of violence in the town.
