New Delhi, May 19: Parliament attack convict Afzal Guru should be hanged at the earliest, senior Congress General Secretary Digvijay Singh said today, differing from the cautious attitude of the AICC on the contentious issue.
“Supreme Court has given him the death sentence for the kind of crime he has committed. It should be done (carried out) at the earliest”, Singh told reporters.
His reaction was at variance with the Congress which steered clear of the clemency issue of Afzal Guru today, saying it was a matter to be decided by the President, the Centre and Delhi government as they had “all the facts”.
