Handwriting in suicide note is Payal Salman Tadvi’s: Expert

MUMBAI: Three-page letter was written by Dr. Payal Salman Tadvi, a tribal medical student who committed suicide this year, according to police handwriting expert’s report.

According to the media reports, the note, not the physical copy, was retrieved from Dr Tadvi’s phone matched the writing samples confirming that the note was allegedly written by Tadvi before hanging herself in hostel room incriminating three senior doctors, namely—Hema Ahuja, Bhakti Meher and Ankita Khandelwal.

The handwriting expert’s report is part of the 1,203-page-long chargesheet -long submitted by Mumbai Police before a special court on Tuesday in the case.

On May 22, Tadvi, 26, a second-year postgraduate medical student ended her life following caste-based harassment.

Tadvi, who belonged to the Scheduled Tribe community was found hanging by the ceiling fan of her hostel room at BYL Nair General Hospital.

The trio of seniors were arrested on May 29 are lodged in jail under judicial custody since then.
