New Delhi, Nov 12 : Rajiv Pratap Rudy, MoS (Independent Charge), Skill Development and Entrepreneurship advised the National Institute for Entrepreneurship and Small Business Development (NIESBUD) to take lead in facilitating the trained persons becoming entrepreneurs through a whole range of hand-holding services with an objective to ensure that more and more trained persons, at the bottom of the pyramid, become job providers instead of job seekers.
The minister on a visit to the campus of the institute in Noida recently, after reviewing present activities of the institute also advised it to concentrate upon high end and innovation based entrepreneurship in due course of time.
Exhorting the institute to transform itself into a premier organization for entrepreneurship development in the country and International level as well, Rajiv Rudy advised the management to also play a leading role in introduction of entrepreneurship as an integral part of different training programmes being organized by different sector skill councils under the auspices of the National Skill Development Corporation (NSDC) under the ministry. The institute should also assist developing Afro-Asian countries in spreading entrepreneurship/skill culture among their respective target groups, advised the minister.
Rudy assured management of the institute that from the ministry’s side, all financial assistance will be provided to it for all of its promotional and non-revenue activities. He however counseled, the institute to formulate a clear road-map for itself detailing the mix of activities in light of the twin objectives of performing the new role expected of it in consonance with emphasis being laid by the present dispensation on entrepreneurship/skill development and the desirability of generating financial resources for sustaining cult of financial self-sufficiency over a period of time.
The National Institute for Entrepreneurship and Small Business Development (NIESBUD) is an apex institute engaged in promotion of entrepreneurship and development of micro and small enterprises through different interventions of training, research, incubation, consultancy etc. The administrative affairs inter-alia of the institute were recently transferred to the ministry of skill development and entrepreneurship from the ministry of micro, small and medium enterprises in view of the focus upon entrepreneurship by the NDA Government as reflected in the first ever National Policy for Skill Development and Entrepreneurship, 2015.
