Nagpur: Siachen braveheart Lance Naik Hanamanthappa’s wife, Mahadevi, on Thursday urged the youth to refrain from indulging in ‘anti-national’ activities.
Speaking at an event in Nagpur, Mahadevi said that she was saddened to hear about the recent ‘anti-national’ activities taking place in the nation, adding that youth must be prepared to sacrifice life for the nation.
“My husband wanted to join the army. He also got selected in police but he joined army. I heard that anti-national activities are taking place in the country, i am saddened by it. We are born in Bharata and Bharata mata has given us place to live, we are misusing it. I urge youths to not do it. We must be ready to give our lives for the nation,” she said.
She also said that she would her daughter to the army to serve the nation.
“I do not have a son. I will send my daughter for nations service. I will send her to army,” she said.
Lance Naik Hanamanthappa breathed his last on February 11at Army’s Research and Referral Hospital. He had slipped into a deeper state of coma and was extremely critical with worsening multiple organ dysfunctions.
He was found to be conscious but drowsy and disoriented when was evacuated to the army’s base camp at the Siachen Glacier. He was flown to Delhi from Siachen on Tuesday morning in a special air ambulance and admitted to the hospital.
