Hampshire Test: India asked to bowl first against England

London: England won the toss and asked India to bowl first in the fourth Test of the ongoing five-match series here at The Ageas Bowl Cricket Ground on Thursday.
Following the toss, Indian skipper Virat Kohli said, “It’s a good grass covering, but the surface is nice and even, probably the best surface of the series. Good thing is, it’s hard, and we’re looking forward to that.”

England captain Joe Root, on the other hand, said that the team is hoping to take good advantage of the conditions.

Reflecting on Playing XI, Kohli confirmed that they are going with the same squad that clinched a 230-run win over England in the Nottingham Test.

For England, batting all-rounder Moeen Ali and left-hand batsman Sam Curran have replaced injured Chris Woakes and Ollie Pope, respectively in the team.
After registering a comprehensive victory in Nottingham, India will now look to continue their winning momentum and level the series 2-2.

The two squads are as follows:
India playing XI- Shikhar Dhawan, KL Rahul, Cheteshwar Pujara, Virat Kohli (C), Ajinkya Rahane, Hardik Pandya, Ravichandran Ashwin, Mohammed Shami, Ishant Sharma, Jasprit Bumrah, Rishabh Pant (wk).

England playing XI- Alastair Cook, Keaton Jennings, Joe Root (C), Sam Curran, Jonny Bairstow (wk), Ben Stokes, Jos Buttler, Adil Rashid, Moeen Ali, Stuart Broad, James Anderson.
