For Hamilton, ‘life is boring without challenges’

Georgia: British driver Lewis Hamilton, who recently sealed his fifth Formula One world title, is always up for challenges as he believes in the mantra that “life is boring without challenges.”

Reasoning the same, the 33-year-old said that it is the hard work behind the challenges that he loves the most.

“I love driving the car. Every weekend when you turn up and get in the car it’s an amazing feeling. That never changes and the challenge of each weekend is always … life is boring without challenges. But it’s different for other people, a lot of people in life don’t care to have a challenge,” CNN quoted Hamilton, as saying.

“Maybe (they take) an easier route but for me, I like being challenged, being faced with new challenges each day and that’s something that’s not given — and I love when it’s hard work,” he added.

The Mercedes driver, who is just two world titles short of matching Michael Schumacher’s all-time record of seven, asserted that he is not thinking about matching the world record at the moment. Having the best holiday period is what he is looking forward to, as for now.

“At the moment, my next challenge is to have the best holiday and off period ever,” he said.

In October, Hamilton had finished fourth in the Mexican Grand Prix to clinch his fifth world championship crown.
