Medical services of NIIMS at par
Last year in the month of December 2010, I was admitted to Nizams Institute of Medical Sciences, Panjagutta and was there for 6 days under treatment and was discharged with completely cured.
I was very impressed by the attitude and sense of duty of the doctors. Strangely, these very doctors are on strike since last 20 days demanding hike in their pay scale.
Patients are suffering and no one is there to sympathise with them. This is very shocking state of affairs. According to some reliable sources, the daily income of this hospital is approximately Rs. 60 lakhs per day whereas by giving the hike in doctor’s salaries, additional burden of Rs. 15 lakhs could be borne by the hospital exchequer.
I appeal to the Chief Minister and the director of the hospital to consider the demand of the doctors and hike their salaries with immediate effect enabling them to work as selflessly as ever and with prime dedication.
This would be favourable for patients too as they would get the benefit of the best treatment.
