Telangana State Civil Supplies Corporation Hamali Workers’ Union working president Ch. Srinivas and Hamali Srinanna on Sunday hailed the KCR government for hiking Hamali charges.
It may be mentioned here that the TRS government on Saturday increased the Hamali charges for handling commodities from the present Rs 8 to Rs.12 per quintal. The government also increased ex gratia amount to be given to Hamalis during Dasara festival from Rs 1,000 to Rs 3,000. Funeral charges were also increased from Rs 5,000 to Rs 10,000.
In a pressnote here today, Hamali workers union leaders stated that the TRS government proved it self as pro-working class as it conceded the demands of Hamali workers by holding discussions with workers in just 25 days after the Telangana State was formed. They expressed gratitude to Chief Minister K. Chandrasekhar Rao, Finance Minister Eetela Rajendar and department officials for their gesture. (NSS)
