Hajj season begins next month

Hyderabad, January 19: The AP State Hajj Committee Executive Officer, Mr Habeebuddin, has stated that the Hajj season for 2011 will commence from February/March as soon as the Hajj Committee of India announces its schedule. The Hajj application forms will be issued and accepted from the intending pilgrim soon after the announcement of the schedule, he said, adding that the Hajj Committee of India has decided to accept applications for the Hajj 2011 from the valid international passport holders.

In a pressnote here, Mr Habeebuddin has stated that the Chairman of AP State Hajj Committee, Janab Syed Khaleeluddin Ahmed has convened a meeting of all the presidents and secretaries of the district Hajj societies on January 25 at 11 am in the office of the Hajj Committee on II floor of the Hajj House at Nampally to discuss and adopt a strategy to call for applications from the eligible aspirants. The chairman of the Hajj committee appealed to the Muslims who desire to perform Hajj this year to ascertain that their passports are ready before submitting the Hajj applications. He advised all the intending pilgrims to apply for passports immediately to avoid disappointment.

The present two form system will be replaced by a single application form. Each head of the Cover (group) will have to provide two mobile numbers which should be valid till completion of the Hajj. The Hajj committee will inform the applicants by SMS about the latest developments and status of their Haj applications. From this year, to ensure faster refunds, if any, the amount will be directly credited to the account of the applicants, he added.
