Hyderabad: Due to some conditions laid down by Saudi Arabian and Indian government, Hajj pilgrims will have to pay additional Rs. 45000 this year. Saudi authorities have increased visa fee to SR 2000 for pilgrims who have already done Hajj or Umrah, while the Indian government has imposed a GST of Rs. 10000.
According to the new visa rule, the pilgrims will have to pay 2,000 Saudi riyals which amount to Rs 35,000 as the Umrah visa fee. The Saudi authorities kept the first Umrah visa-free and charged 2,000 riyals for each subsequent visit.
Meanwhile, Telangana Hajj Committee Chairman Mohammed Masihullah Khan and Executive Officer Prof. S A Shukoor told that the last date to make payment of the second instalment is May 23. Aspirants have already paid the first instalment of Rs. 81000.
