At the first sight, because of tomb-like structure and towering minaret, the 11 storied imposing building of State Hajj House looks like a masjid. This building was constructed 12 years ago at Razzaq manzil with the cost of more than Rs. 10 crores. A vast three storied masjid was also built inside the building which has a capacity of 500 devotees. However the masjid of the Hajj house is in sorry state. The paint is peeling off from the walls and the carpets are worn out.
Special officer Waqf Board Mr. Shaikh Mohammed Iqbal IPS after taking his charge performed prayer in the masjid and announced that he will begin his duty by doing repair and renovation work of Hajj House Masjid and he stuck to his word. It is said that he invited tenders and gave the work of painting to a contractor. The work is likely to be completed within next 3 days. It must be noted that the painting work is being done after 12 years.
