Hyderabad, April 26: Andhra Pradesh Hajj committee is blatantly refusing to accept Hajj applications of the Hajj aspirants under reserved category particularly septuagenarians and has announced to receive those applications in general category.
No formal announcement has been made by Hajj committee in regard while it argues that the applications of Hajj aspirants who don’t have passports will not be accepted under reserved category. But those aspirants who possess passport application receipt are also denied seat in the reserved category.
Most of the aspirants face hardship in this regard and are driven from pillar to post.
The aspirants alleged that the authorities are accepting applications recommended by influential and resourceful personalities even if they don’t have passport.
Andhra Pradesh Hajj committee had setup a special counter at regional passport office for septuagenarian Hajj aspirants. Notwithstanding that they are given time to submit their passport till April 30 they are being harassed under the false pretense that Hajj committee is unable to receive the their applications as they don’t possess passports.
