Hyderabad: Hajj camp for the pilgrims of Telangana and Andhra Pradesh for the year 2016 is scheduled to begin on 18 August. The arrival of pilgrims may start from 19 August.
Hajj arrangements have virtually begun at Hajj House and tenders will be finalised in connection with Hajj camp tomorrow while a meeting of 26 government departments will be held on August 4. Deputy Chief Minister Mr. Mohammed Mahmood Ali and other Senior Officers of Minority Welfare departments of Telangana and Andhra Pradesh are likely to attend the meeting.
Special Officer Hajj Committee Prof. S A Shukoor told that three separate tenders have been called in connection with Hajj Camp. Tenders of supplying company, catering and camp maintenance will be opened on July 26. Current year Hajj Committees of Telangana and Andhra Pradesh will jointly conduct Hajj Camp.
According to Prof. S A Shukoor 4635 pilgrims of both the states will embark for the Holy Pilgrimage which includes 2567 pilgrims of Telangana and 2068 pilgrims of Andhra Pradesh.
