4598 Hajj aspirants have submitted their forms for Hajj 2014 so far, while more than 10000 forms were issued. Special Officer Hajj Committee Prof. S A Shukoor told that the last date of submitting application forms is March 15 and it is likely that like previous year, more than 15000 applications will be received. He told that acceptance of applications is in progress by district committees also.
148 applications have been received under reserved category A while 328 applications have been received under reserved category B. ‘A’ category includes septuagenarian Hajj aspirants while category B contains Hajj aspirants whose application was rejected for 3 consecutive years. These applications will be accepted without drawing of lots. He informed. He further said 12 applications were rejected as the aspirants had already performed Hajj earlier.
