Hajj 2010: Half of the UDF returned to pilgrims

Hyderabad: Special Officer Telangana Hajj Committee told that the process of returning 50 pc of the User Development Fee (UDF) to pilgrims of Hajj 2010 is in full swing. He told that 50 pc of the UDF which amounts to Rs. 487 is being sent to pilgrims through cheques. Rs. 974 was charged to each pilgrim as UDF. He requested Hajj pilgrims of districts to contact with their respective societies and obtain cheques. Pilgrims of Hyderabad and Rangareddy can contact Telangana Hajj Committee office Hajj House, Nampally. He informed that, for pilgrims who have expired during the period, the amount will be paid to their nominee.

A total of Rs. 37,29,933 will be returned to Andhra Pradesh, Telangana and Karnataka pilgrims. Special Officer Hajj Committee Prof. S A Shukoor told that in 2010 the then government had announced to waive 50% on the User Development Fee (UDF); as per the announcement, the Central Hajj Committee has begun returning the amount.
