The Haj Committee of India (HCR) in its meeting held in Mumbai has decided to allot the Haj Quota to all the states and union territories on the basis of 2011 Census, informed Telangana State Haj Committee Special Officer Prof. S.A. Shukoor here on Saturday.
Prof. Shukoor said that in the recently held meeting of Chairmen and Executive Officers of all the states and Union Territories he had proposed various measures for the welfare of the Haj pilgrims, including allotment of Haj quota on the basis of 2011 census; ending of compulsion of purchasing two suit cases each from Haj Committee of India; compulsion of Qurbani through IDB by the HCI; doing away with the Medical Test for all the Haj Applicants and making it necessary for the selected Haj pilgrims only; making online the record of three years of all the Haj applicants etc. The Haj Committee of India accepted not only all these suggestions but agreed to send Khadim ul Hujjaj for at the ratio of 200:1 instead of present system of 300:1 and to adopt the scientific method for selection of Khadim-ul-Hujjaj. The meeting also agreed to allot the buildings of every state at one place only. It agreed to send SMS on receipt of Haj amount from the pilgrims and to allot not more than two flights each day.
Qaiser Shameem Chairman HCI presided over the meeting while Ata-ur-Rahman CEO informed about acceptance of the suggestion made by Prof. SA Shukoor. (INN)
