Hyderabad, April 08: The Ministry of External Affairs has announced that the pilgrims aged above 70 years intending to go on Haj would be allotted confirmed seats by the Haj Committee of India along with a companion under reserved category.
All pilgrims who come under the category were required to submit the copies of their valid international passports and their applications will not be accepted without it, Chairman of the Andhra Pradesh State Haj Committee Syed Kaleeluddin Ahmed said in a press release issued here on Thursday. Such a provision was made for the Haj 2011, he stated.
‘Mehram’
Asking the eligible pilgrims to avail the facility, Mr. Kaleeluddin said the name of the companion was also required to be mentioned in the application forms on a format in the shape of rubber stamp to be given by the Haj Committee. The form should be signed by the applicant and the Executive Officer of the committee.
In case of women pilgrims under the category the companions should be ‘mehram’ only.
The Haj Committee of India had already announced that the applicants rejected during the Haj 2010 on account of PNR would be confirmed along with the applicants who were not selected during the last three years. However, all such applicants under the reserved categories must submit their passport copies along with their application before April 30.
