Haj Committe requests RPO to held passport mela

Andhra Pradesh State Haj Committee today requested Regional Passport Officer (RPO) to organize a ‘Passport Mela’ similar to the one organised in Bangalore for the benefit of the applicants. A Haj Committee delegation, led by its Chairman Syed Khaleeluddin Ahmed, submitted a representation to RPO, Dr Srikar Reddy, for releasing the passports to those applicants intending to go on Haj this year. The delegation also requested the RPO to organize a passport mela because the Haj pilgrims were facing a lot of difficulties in filing their applications. The RPO promised to issue the passports to all such persons, whose police clearance reports have been received, within 15 to 20 days.

The Haj Committee and the RPO requested the District Superintendent of the Police concerned to send the police clearance report expeditiously so that passports can be issued to intending pilgrims at the earliest enabling them to submit their Haj applications. UNI
