Haj application forms for the Haj 2013 will be issued from February 6 to March 20. Filled-in applications, along with all relevant documents like copies of passport, address proof, affidavit, SBI bank pay-in slip of Rs 300 per pilgrim and two photographs should be submitted in the office of the AP State Haj Committee on all working days between 10 am and 3 pm.
Haj Committee Chairman Syed Khaleeluddin Ahmed, speaking at Haj Committee meeting here this morning, said the applicants should also enclose a cancelled blank cheque bearing IFS code. He said the Haj Committee staff has been trained properly about the procedure and acceptance of Haj application forms.
The Haj Committee members Syded Ghulam Afzal Biyabani Khusro Pasha (Chairman AP State Wakf Board), Rahmatullah Khan, Malika Begum, Shaik Shareef, Syed Raza Hussain Azad, Mohammed Habeeb Ahmed, Mohammed Baig, Mahmood Hussain, Alhaj Mohammed Pasha attended the meeting. Executive Officer Abdul Hameed explained about the process and acceptance of Haj application forms throughout the State. Syed Khaleeluddin Ahmed presided over the meeting.
They said all applications should have a valid passport issued on or before March 20 which should be valid at least till March 20, 2013. The applicants under reserved categories should submit their original passports along with the application forms. This year, the Ministry of External Affairs, directed to restrict the number of pilgrimages to a Haj applicant through Haj Committee of India to once in a life time as against the existing once in five years. This is a major change, they said, adding that the applicants should submit an affidavit stating that they have not performed Haj earlier through the Haj Committee of India.
This principle will also apply to the repeaters, who wish to go to Haj as Mehram along with their family members. Likewise applicants under reserved categories along with their companion should also submit an affidavit that they had never performed Haj earlier either through Haj Committee or Private Tour Operator in their life time. Every affidavit should be made on a Rs 10 Stamp paper and duly notarized. Proforma of the affidavit is available in the Haj application form. They said this year also there will be only two categories i.e Green and Azeezia. Children above two years will be charged as per adult pilgrims.
