Hyderabad: Dr. Maqsood Ahmed Khan, CEO of Central Haj Committee, India while talking to news reporter of Siasat Urdu Daily told that quota for Haj pilgrims has been enhanced for India. Telangana State might get 1200-1500 additional seats.
He also told that additional seats will allotted as per the waiting list. The quota will be distributed as per the population of the respective state for which census details of 2011 will be taken into consideration.
Dr. Maqsood Ahmed Khan further told that seats falling vacant due to cancellation of Haj pilgrimage will be allotted to the pilgrims on the waiting list. Certain states like AP, Tamil Nadu, Bihar, Jharkhand, Delhi etc do not have any waiting list of Haj pilgrims. The share of their seats will be distributed to the states where there is waiting list.
He appealed to the Haj pilgrims not to contact any middleman since no recommendation will be entertained.
He also mentioned that recently Saudi Arabia has enhanced the quota of Haj pilgrims for India to the tune of 25000, out of which, 15000 seats will be given to Central Haj Committee. The remaining 10000 seats will be allocated to private tour operators.
