Kohima: Hailstorm and heavy rain lashed parts of Nagaland, including its capital town today but there was no official report of any major damage due to hailstorm.
Nagaland State Disaster Management Authority (NSDMA) OSD, Johnny Ruangmei said there is normal rainfall in Nagaland this year but due to its erratic nature its volume is very high and the impact is therefore more.
He said moderate to thunderstorm weather is expected across the state for the next few days.
NSDMA team is assessing damages caused to plantation and vegetation if any in today s hailstorm, he said.
The heavy rains ahead of the monsoon clogged drains here and flooded the main roads in some areas.
Rains and hailstorm did not take place in Dimapur and Mon districts.
