Hafiz Peer Shabbir Ahmed condemns proposal to scrap Hajj subsidy

Jamiatul Ulama-e-Hind has strongly criticized the proposal by the central government to scrap Hajj subsidy and said that Hajj aspirants in this country are given Hajj subsidy for a long time and this has been given by the government itself; Muslims have never demanded it. This is our right. These views were expressed by Maulana Hafiz Peer Shabbir Ahmed president Jamiatul Ulama Andhra Pradesh and said that we want to clearly state that if the government wants to scrap the subsidy, then let it gladly do it, but not without making a complete and comprehensive system of Hajj. He said scrapping of the subsidy which has been given by the government itself is incomprehensible.

If government wants to provide facility to the Muslims in accomplishment of their religious obligation, it is the duty of our leaders and it is not a favour. Government should listen clearly that Muslims do not want any favour but they want their right.
