Guv releases news aggregator “Happening Telangana”

Hyderabad: Governor E S L Narasimhan today released News Aggregation, “Happening Telangana” (www.happeningtelangana.in), in the executive lounge of Dr MCR HRD Institute.

The News Aggregator has been developed by the Centre for Telangana Studies of the Institute, in association with the Centre for Information Technology, for the benefit of students, research scholars, and the general public — both at home and abroad. The Governor said the News Aggregator would result in bridging information gaps about different aspects of Telangana State.

BP Acharya, IAS, Special Chief Secretary to Government & DG, Dr. MCR HRD Institute, said that aggregating news content about Telangana from different leading English and Telugu dailies of Hyderabad and publishing it in the News Aggregator, ‘Happening Telangana’ is one of its kind initiatives in the entire country. “Happening Telangana’ will be of great help for those who would like to keep track of the developments in multiple fields in Telangana State”, he stated and added that in future it will be further developed to cover news content from the dailies of other languages.

“The NRIs living in the Gulf as well as Western countries, especially those who belong to the Telangana State, have a keen desire to keep in constant touch with the Telangana-related events and activities and in this scenario the News Aggregator would address a felt need of people living across the globe”, observed Dr Gautam Pingle, Dean of Studies & Head, Centre for Telangana Studies.
