Guv inspects Gandhi; disgusted over pathetic conditions

Hyderabad: Governor E.S.L Narasimhan expressed his displeasure over the pathetic conditions in Gandhi hospital during his sudden inspection on Friday.
During his surprise visit, the Governor inspected the out-patient and in-patient wards and Intensive Care Units. He expressed surprise over the lack of basic amenities in the general hospital and criminal negligence of officials and staff towards the patients. Shocked over the situation in the hospital, the Governor called Health Minister C. Lakshma Reddy on phone from the hospital and complained about hopeless conditions in the hospital. The Governor also warned the hospital employees not to be carefree and discharge their duties diligently. He also said he would again visit the hospital later.
Governor left the hospital without talking to the media as the hospital authorities prevented them from entering the hospital during the Governor’s visit. (NSS)
