Governor ESL Narasimhan today attended a “Mass Marriage” in which 102 couples tied the knots at a program conducted by MLA M Janardhan Reddy at MJR Trust Function Hall at Nagarkurnool in Mahabubnagar district. Finance Minister E Rajender, MP Jithender Reddy, MLAs Srinivas Goud, A Venkateshwar Reddy, Anjaiah and other leaders attended the event.
Narasimhan blessed the newly wed couples and praised the MLA for conducting such a great event. He observed that gifting or donating virgin in marriage is greater than any other donations and philanthropic activities in the world. There is no need of any other donations if one bares the expenses of marriage of deprived people, he said. The Governor asked the newly wed couples to avoid getting carried away with the free marriages. ‘You are all getting into new lease of lives and should eke out your own livelihood through hard work to develop’, Narasimhan noted.
He said he had asked Janardhan Reddy whether those married in a similar way last year are earning their livelihood or keeping themselves idle, he said. They should become part of state development as the Government alone will not do everything, he said.
