GUV, AP CM leave for shar to witness PSLV-C 23 launch

Hyderabad, June 29 (NSS): Governor E S L Narasimhan and AP Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu have left for Sriharikota via Renigunta to witness launch of PSLV-C 23 at Satish Dhawsan Space Centre.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi is also scheduled to reach Sriharikota to watch the event at about 6 pm this evening. However, PSLV C-23 launch has been rescheduled for Monday at 9.52 am at Sriharikota. The PSLV C-23 rocket launch was rescheduled due to the probability of space debris movement during the launch window. SPOT-7 is an Earth observing satellite, similar to Indian Remote Sensing System (IRSS).
Later, the AP Chief Minister will call on the Prime Minister and discuss about the developments of the State. Naidu is likely to present a power point program before the Prime Minister urging him to increase special status period to the State up to 15 years and a package for Rayalaseema and North Andhra districts like the package given to Uttarkhand.
The Prime Minister and AP Chief Minister would stay at Sriharikonta tonight. Sources said Modi will arrive at Sriharikota after a brief stop-over at Chennai. This would be Modi’s first visit to South after becoming the PM. The indigenous PSLV-C23 rocket, carrying five satellites of France, Germany, Canada and Singapore, will be launched from Satish Dhawan Space Centre (SHAR) in Sriharikota this evening.
