Guttala Begumpet Wakf Land case hearing in Supreme Court today

Hyderabad: Hearing of Wakf land pertaining to Guttala Begumpet is scheduled for today in Supreme Court. For the restoration of 90 acre land Wakf Board has commissioned the services of Addl. Solicitor General of India, Mr. Parasuram and other legal experts.

Mr. Mohammed Asadullah, CEO of Wakf Board informed that a senior advocate of Hyderabad has been sent to New Delhi with the relevant documents to assist Wakf Board’s lawyer.

It may be mentioned that the Division Bench of High Court pronounced a Judgment earlier in which ownership of the land has not been assigned to both the parties. State Wakf Board filed an appeal in Supreme Court against this Judgment. In addition to this, another case pertaining to ownership of Guttala Begum land is also pending in Supreme Court.

Wakf Board is making an attempt to get the hearing of both these cases clubbed together. The lawyers of Wakf Board would appeal to Supreme Court today for this.

Mr. Asadullah told that all the documents to establish the ownership of land are available. It is hoped that the Judgment would be delivered in favour of Wakf Board by the Supreme Court of India.
