Gurgaon man held for raping daughter for 6 months, making her believe it’s normal

Gurgaon: A 37-year-old man who works at a factory as labourer got arrested on Friday for allegedly raping his 13-year-old daughter for past six months and manipulating her to believe ‘it is normal for a father to rape his daughter’.

The accused is a labourer and lives in the premises of factory in Pataudi along with his second wife and four children; including the victim, who is born from his first wife, a Hindustan Times report said. The SHO, women police station Manesar, Poonam Singh said that the accused did not have regret or guilt when he was questioned after getting arrested.

“The man was arrested on Friday night at 10 pm. He was questioned in detail about the matter, but he seems to have no regret or guilt,” Singh said. Moreover, when the victim complained to her mother, she did not believe her. It was then on Friday, her mother who works as domestic help returned home early to verify victim’s claim and to her surprise, she found her husband assaulting the minor, police said.

The accused, who is a native of Bihar has been booked under POCSO Act and a case has been registered at Women Police Station, Manesar. He was produced in the court on Saturday and sent to judicial custody.
