Gurugram: The owners of pub, bar and clubs and their employees launched a protest on the streets of MG Road here on Sunday after over 10 properties were shut down following the withdrawal of police’s No Objection Certificate (NOC).
Earlier, the Gurugram Police had reportedly withdrawn NOC given to over 10 bars and pubs in various malls, situated in the MG Road area in order to curb immoral activities.
However, the bar owners alleged that the police did not give them any notice before sealing their properties.
“They didn’t give any notice and say we’re being shut as bars run flesh trade. CCTV cameras are installed, how can it be done? People will lose jobs,” said one of the bar owners.
The action was taken by the police due to the alleged involvement of these pubs in the illegal activities. The police then had recommended the excise department to cancel their licenses.
Police NOC is a mandatory document for any club or bar to run as it certifies that the entity concerned poses no security or law and order threat. (ANI)
