Gurgaon: ‘Bishnoi gang’s’ sharpshooter nabbed

Gurgaon: Gurgaon Police on Wednesday night arrested Bishnoi gang’s sharpshooter Sampat Nehra belonging to the Lawrence Bishnoi gang from Hyderabad.

Nehra who is a wanted criminal and accused of multiple crimes, including murder, attempt to murder and loot has several dozens of cases registered against him in Rajasthan, Punjab, Haryana and Chandigarh, Indian Express reported.

Police said he was known for murdering people in exchange for crores of rupees.

Ravinder Kumar, Gurgaon’s PRO speaking on the arrest said: “Ever since the arrest of the gang leader, Lawrence Bishnoi, who is currently locked up in Jodhpur jail, Nehra had been handling the operations of the gang.”

Lawrence Bishnoi was in the news when he threatened to kill Salman Khan in Jodhpur while he was being taken from Jodhpur Jail to be produced in court.

According to the police, 28-year-old Nehra hails from Chandigarh. He entered the underworld through the route of student politics. Before the Police apprehended Nehra, he was staying in Rajasthan’s Churu district.

The Police said Nehra is accused in several murdering cases of a municipal councillor’s husband in Punjab’s Banur area , a man from Sadulpur court in Rajasthan, as well as an attempt to murder the brother of a former MLA of the Indian National Lok Dal (INLD) and also for firing at Police to release his gan member Deepak from the Police custody.

“Apart from these, several other cases are also registered against him, regarding murders, attempts to murder, loot, dacoity, and extortion…He will be brought to Gurgaon from Hyderabad, on remand, and questioned further,” said PRO Kumar.
