A gurdwara is a place of worship for the Sikh community but a temple in Dubai transforms into a masjid during the month of Ramadan. The gurdwara has been hosting Iftar event since it was established in the year 2012. But this year being ‘the year of tolerance’, it is hosting Iftar on all 30 days of the month of Ramadan. The menu is all vegetarian.
Azaan, the Muslim call to prayer, is called out right in the middle of the Sikh temple and then the entire area of the Sikh temple is transformed into a mosque.
This Gurdwara conveys a strong message to the people of the world that despite of differences we are all human beings in this world.
