New Delhi: Gur prices tumbled down by Rs 100 per quintal at the wholesale gur (jaggery) market in the national capital today owing to lack of activity due to cash crunch amid adequate stocks position.
Muradnagar gur market also lost Rs 50 per quintal on thin demand.
Marketmen said besides increased arrivals from manufacturing belts, thin business due to scarcity of funds in the market, largely pulled down gur prices.
In Delhi, gur pedi and shakkar prices dropped by Rs 100 each to Rs 3,100-3,200 and Rs 3,500-3,600 per quintal, respectively.
At Muradnagar, gur pedi and dhayya prices traded lower by Rs 50 each to end at Rs 2,750-2,800 and Rs 2,850-2,900 per quintal.
Following are today’s rates (in Rs per quintal):
Gur chakku Rs 3,100-3,200, pedi Rs 3,100-3,200, dhayya Rs 3,400-3,500 and shakkar Rs 3,500-3,600.
Muzaffarnagar: Rasket Rs 2,500-2,600, chakku Rs 2,750-3,000, khurpa Rs 2,600-2,650 and Ladoo Rs 2,900-3,000.
Muradnagar: Pedi Rs 2,750-2,800 and dhayya Rs 2,850-2,900.
