Gur Pedi prices climb aton tight stocks

New delhi: Gur Pedi prices strengthened by Rs 100 per quintal at the wholesale market in the national capital today following paucity of stocks amid restricted supply.

Elsewhere, other gur varieties ruled flat in the absence of any worthwhile activity.

Muzaffarnagar and Muradnagar gur markets also remained flat in lacklustre trading.

Marketmen said seasonal demand from stockists and retailers agaisnt restricted supplies, attributed rise in gur pedi prices in Delhi.

In Delhi, gur Pedi prices were higher by Rs 100 to finish at Rs 3,300-3,400 per quintal.

Following are today’s rates (in Rs per quintal):

Gur chakku Rs 3,200-3,300, pedi Rs 3,300-3,400, dhayya Rs 3,500-3,600 and shakkar Rs 3,600-3,700.

Muzaffarnagar: Rasket Rs 2,600-2,650, chakku Rs 2,900-3,100, khurpa Rs 2,900-2,950 and Ladoo Rs 3,100-3,150.

Muradnagar: Pedi Rs 2,925-3,000 and dhayya Rs 3,000-3,050.
