Guntur CT Asst Commissioner jailed in ACB case

The Special Judge for SPE & ACB Cases, Nellore, today convicted B Vijendra Rao, former Assistant Commissioner of Commercial Taxes, Guntur, and sentenced him to undergo rigorous imprisonment for three years. He was also ordered to pay a fine of Rs two lakh for the offence u/s 13(2), r/w 13(1)(e) of the P C Act, 1988. Earlier, the ACB had registered a case against Mr Rao for acquisition of assets disproportionate to the known sources of his legal income.

During investigation, he was found in possession of disproportionate assets and he was charge sheeted in the court, a release from ACB said here today. UNI
